Our lovely comments
I'm so delighted to have received all these wonderful remarks from my trainees. This is the reason I do what I do!
I have known Sarah for over 20 years as a fellow competitor, judge and instructor. She is passionate about the art of riding side-saddle and is a highly successful rider, having won many classes at major shows across the country, including the Side Saddle Association National Championships and The Royal Welsh Show. She always looking effortlessly elegant, with a huge attention to every last detail and this carries over to her role as a judge and instructor, always seeking to be utterly professional in all that she does and pass on her huge experience to the next generation of side saddle riders.
With my horse being bitless I found riding her from a very classical perspective unsuccessful so I needed an instructor able to adapt things to my horse’s individual ability and strengths. Sarah was exactly what we were looking for; lessons were delivered in a fun, informative and well-structured manner, it was always made clear what had gone well and what needed working on, goals set were realistic and achievable and progress was clearly visible from the first lesson. I’ve learnt a lot about how to get the best from my horse and I’m much more confident in how to handle her quirks. I wouldn’t hesitate to have more lessons with Sarah and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, friendly and empathetic instructor.
I have known Sarah for over 10 years linked to the equine industry in Norfolk. During this time Sarah has helped me with my show horse and taken me from an absolute novice side saddle rider to competing and being placed in County and National level competitions. Sarah has given me excellent tuition with side saddle lessons and also assisted with the turnout of both horse and rider. This expertise has been developed over many years of riding and coaching with outstanding competition success Sarah has had with her own horses and judging at National level. Sarah has also delivered British Horse Society training for college and private students to a high ability with excellent pass rates for BHS examinations. I can highly recommend Sarah for British Horse Society training and side saddle tuition.
Sarah Holman is a fabulous riding instructor. Her ability to assess your capabilities as a rider and your horse along with your goals enables her to give clear structured lessons. Along with adapting to unpredictable horse moments. Sarah gives you confidence and clear instructions during your lessons but also gives you time to ride and feel what you may be learning or the going of the horse so you can easily replicate this in between your lessons.
Sarah is extremely professional and her knowledge is exceptional. Her personal passion for horses, life and fun is emulated during her lessons.
Sarah taught our daughter for two years while she was teaching at Weston Equestrian Centre. As horse owning parents we looked for an instructor who would be thorough with the basics, kind, challenging and have good attention to safety. Sarah is all of these. She explained everything clearly, introducing lateral movements at the pace which gave understanding of how the horse moved, and instilled quiet, strong confidence in our daughter. She is an experienced rider herself who has a sympathetic and individual approach to teaching each person, whether child or adult.
I have known Sarah in a teaching capacity for 7 years. She has many qualities that make her a brilliant riding instructor, patience, calmness, excellent explaining skills, an ability to adapt teaching to suit horse and rider.
I would not hesitate to recommend Sarah to anyone who wants lessons, from beginners, intermediates, to advanced riders, for flat work to jumping.
Jennifer - Sarah is a knowledgeable experienced instructor. She always pays great attention to detail...
...and after assessing you and your horse will help you progress with excellent Equine advice and instruction to help you and your horse achieve a better way of going so creating a greater partnership and enabling you to achieve your goals.
She helped me achieve excellent side saddle results with my horse in 2019. Thoroughly recommend!
Claire - For the last 2 years Sarah has been teaching my children all aspects of horsemanship, from...
...riding to stable management. She adapts the lessons to their individual needs and lets them develop at their own pace. They really enjoy their classes, while I feel confident that Sarah makes their safety her priority.
Sarah has also been invaluable in helping us care for our pony. Rugs, feed and worming have been discussed at length! Her skills and experience have helped develop the bond between child and pony and we are very grateful to her.
Helen - Sarah Holman is a fantastic teacher, very professional but at the same time friendly and...
...personable. The instructions she gives are clear and concise. There is a good balance of constructive feedback and praise. I would definitely recommend Sarah, Thank you Sarah for all your time and effort!
Lucy - I met Sarah whilst I was studying for my BHS EHKC Entry Level through an online training...
...company. I needed a BHS Coach to invigilate my exam.
Sarah was more than I had expected or could have hoped for. She was incredibly supportive, exceptionally knowledgeable and always patient. I decided to do my BHS EHKC Level One through Sarah instead of online. This not only saved me a lot of money but gained me the best teacher I could have ever asked for. I studied at my own pace, around my full time job and other commitments and Sarah was only ever a text or a call away, if I needed her.
I started this journey at 35 years old with next to no knowledge of horse care. But I knew it was something that I really wanted to do. The BHS have so many ways for a complete horse novice to learn and fantastic coaches to work with. It’s never too late to do something that makes you happy. My only regret is that I didn’t start sooner and with Sarah from the very beginning. I don’t know what I will do next but I do know who will be my coach when I do.
Tim - Sarah is a very kind a component equine coach. She strikes the right balance of theoretical...
...knowledge with practical elements which keeps the learning process fun and ensures the student gets an all round knowledge base. Sarah is very engaging in the way she teaches by the use of books, her past experiences and practical demonstrations as well as the occasional quiz to ensure the knowledge is retained. She has also taken me on trips to local tack shops and stables to show me what equipment is available and different techniques such as lunging. All in all Sarah is a five star coach who is happy to teach everyone and pass on her extensive knowledge.
Rhian - I have known Sarah for ten years and started training with her in side-saddle, something...
...which was new to myself and my mare. She is a very knowledgeable and experienced instructor who brings out the best in her pupils. Always happy to help and advise. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sarah.
Katy - I have been having lessons with Sarah for nearly 3 years now. In that time she has helped...
...so much with my confidence and riding skills. I have 2 slightly quirky Arabs and my ambition has been to be able to compete in ridden showing and dressage. After some time off competing my confidence was not as good as it could have been! Sarah is always perceptive and sensitive to what needs working on. She has helped me to find solutions to ridden problems and to devise schooling plans to work on at home. She even came to the rescue at the last minute to help with schooling issues just before a competition.
I would truly recommend Sarah as riding instructor. She has always found the positives and helped me to work on them, to both improve my riding and to get the best out of and enjoy my horses.
