Services and Prices
Lesson Pricing
As a freelance, I travel to clients at their chosen venue – my listed prices are for within a 15 mile radius of my base of Aylsham (postcode: NR11 6HZ). I do travel further but additional mileage costs of 50p per mile will be added to the price. For stable management sessions, I am happy for clients to travel to me.
I do not have my own on-site riding arena facilities.
I offer competitive rates for private tuition and group tuition.
Private Lessons
1-to-1 sessions are offered in various disciplines: dressage/jumping/x-country (if facilities permit) or a mix of various combinations. Lunge or lead rein lessons are available for beginners or lunge lessons for beginner/intermediate/advanced riders to improve position, feel, aids, application. I am a firm believer in using poles in flatwork which brings a fun focus to each session.
Benefits of private lessons
- An individual approach to your needs and your horse/pony.
- Eliminate the problems quicker whilst getting immediate help and advice.
- Concentrate on yourself and your horse/pony rather than wait for your turn in a group.
- Exercises tailor made for you and your horse/pony enabling you to progress further.

Lunge lessons
I offer lunge lessons for clients to improve their lungeing technique and to give them exercises to improve their horse and make lungeing interesting, challenging but ultimately safe. The cost of these lessons varies depending on the content and the original skill level of the rider/handler. All exercises will be tailored to the horse and rider/handler, explained and worked through. I also offer a service where I will lunge the rider on their horse to improve the rider’s position and effectiveness.
All lessons will be 30 minutes with 15-20 minutes of lungeing.
Side Saddle lessons
I have a small selection of side saddles which fit most horses/ponies from 14 hands upwards. I do not have side saddles for very small ponies/children. All new clients must have an initial assessment to enable me to meet you and your horse/pony, check the suitability to carry a side saddle and strength of the horse/pony’s back, see it’s natural way of moving (run up in hand and on the lunge), a short ridden session astride, fit of side saddle and basic introduction. This is to determine that the side saddle is not affecting the way the horse/pony naturally moves either in hand or under an astride saddle. If I cannot get the side saddle to fit your horse/pony/yourself, then I will advise that until a suitable side saddle can be sourced, no more future lessons can be booked as an incorrect fit will compromise your horse/pony/yourself welfare.
Please Note: the side saddles I provide for the lessons are only to be used as an introduction (i.e. 6 months – may be longer under my discretion). I do advise riders who are planning to take up this sport on a longer term to invest in their own side saddle as it can be set up specifically for each individual horse/pony/rider. By having a dedicated side saddle, this will enable riders to practise more instead of only when it is their allotted lesson.

Weight Limit: side saddles are heavier than astride saddles and also sit further back on horse/pony’s muscles which can potentially make their backs sore. It is advised that rider’s must not exceed 14 stone.
Training plans
A consultation to assess current level and decide on goals then a bespoke training plan can be drawn up for you and your horse. This is provided as a typewritten printout and checklist so you can monitor your progress.
Clinics
I am happy to run clinics for dressage, polework or basic jumping at your yard or for Riding or Pony Clubs for groups of up to 4 riders. The hourly price can be split between the number of riders in the session.
